In May 2020 Ean Golden moved to Santa Barbara. 3 months into the pandemic people needed to dance, so he purchased 12 headphones and started djing for friends in a local park. Being outside, other people asked to join, and he bought a few more. Week after week it grew organically and today, over 2 years later, a wonderful community of dancers has been formed.
Today, Santa Barbara Ecstatic Dance - simply referred to as “DANCE”, gathers around 75-150 people every week on grass in front of the ocean with silent disco headphones. It is facilitated by Aaron and Ean.
Our mission is simple: create and build community by providing a welcoming space for people to dance to amazing music. We do this by playing quality, modern music that is accessible to all and fun for newcomers to intentional dance practices.
